Marketing4Effect (“M4E,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a digital marketing agency registered in Nigeria. We operate the Business Growth Engine (“BGE”), a customer relationship management platform that integrates with WhatsApp Business API, email, and SMS to help businesses communicate with their customers.

2. Data We Collect

We collect and process the following categories of data:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, business name, and business category provided during registration.
• Customer Contact Data: Phone numbers, names, and other contact details of your customers that you import or that are collected through WhatsApp conversations.
• Message Content: WhatsApp messages, email content, and SMS messages sent and received through the BGE platform.
• Usage Data: Login timestamps, feature usage, campaign performance metrics, and platform interaction data.
• Payment Information: Transaction records and invoice data. We do not store credit card numbers directly.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

• Provide and operate the BGE platform and its features
• Send and receive WhatsApp messages on your behalf via the WhatsApp Business API
• Process and deliver email and SMS campaigns
• Generate analytics, reports, and business insights
• Manage customer segments, automations, and deal pipelines
• Provide customer support and platform notifications
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

4. WhatsApp Business API & Meta Integration

The BGE integrates with the WhatsApp Business API provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. When you use our WhatsApp features:

• Messages are transmitted through Meta's infrastructure in accordance with Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy.
• We store message content securely to provide conversation history, analytics, and automation features.
• We do not sell, share, or use WhatsApp message data for advertising purposes.
• Message templates are submitted to Meta for approval before use in outbound campaigns.
• End-user opt-out requests (“STOP”) are honoured immediately and automatically.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring account isolation.
• The platform is hosted on Vercel with HTTPS encryption in transit.
• Sensitive fields (API keys, tokens) are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
• Access is protected by authentication with session management and automatic timeout.
• We implement role-based access control (RBAC) to limit data access to authorised personnel.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — Message delivery and template management
• Supabase — Database hosting and authentication
• Vercel — Application hosting and deployment
• Brevo — Email delivery services

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

7. Your Rights (NDPR Compliance)

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of your personal data we hold
• Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data
• Data Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — Object to processing of your data for specific purposes
• Withdraw Consent — Withdraw previously given consent at any time

8. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for 90 days after account closure.
• Message data is retained for 12 months, after which it is archived or deleted based on your account settings.
• Analytics and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely in anonymised form.
• You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

9. Cookies & Tracking

The BGE platform uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies may be used to improve platform performance and are anonymised.

10. Children's Privacy

The BGE platform is designed for business use and is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
